6th overall, 6th overall percussion, 1st in class woodwinds, 3rd in class overall, superior in every category and a superior with distinction in percussion! Out of 25 bands, I was REALLY happy! Competition was so exciting, it was like mini-drum corps! So awesome!! All of the other bands were at there like 5th competition and we were at are first and only. I think we were the only non-competitive marching band there rofl

omfg I wish that I could just spend a summer in Tokyo by myself and not have to do any work or anything. This is what I think of when I listen to new music from Japan.

I don't have much to report because my life has been consumed by band lately. Competition is tomorrow so yay! so excited for that . . we've been working super hard and I think we could pull it off and end in the top 3!

omfg I love college applications I need more of them :)

omggg Nakata is so hotizzle and Koshijima is adorable

lol
sorry for that angsty post . . I think I was just having an off day or something. The FE is awesome and I can't even tell the difference between before they knew and after so it's all good.

Our homecoming this year is Halloween themed so all the candidates are doing a who-done-it thing and we all have to pick a persona. I don't know what to be . . I was thinking like Peter Pan or something but idk. Suggestions as to a very super awesome character??

It's a little saddening to know that once I finally can scrap my Summer {to do} list, school will be starting. I wish I would've finished everything sooner :/

Chicken Dinner tomorrow! Band camp is almost over!! We got released early today because there were massive ominous clouds looming on the horizon, but it's all good. I wonder how the performance will be? I wish percussion had our second song, but I guess Bobby hasn't been able to finish by the deadline, so we've just been working the opener for seven hours a day. At least the band gets to sing and have some variety!

Prism was pretty intense. I didn't think it would have gone as well as it did, but it didn't really matter to me that much because everyone who is coming to see it that I know is coming tomorrow.

Uhh, I definitely don't think I've been this sick in a while. It doesn't help that I don't get a break until the time I wake up in the morning on Sunday to the start of OM. Tomorrow my entire "Shakespearian troupe" is going over to Adrienne's after FPS to work on our skit for five hours, then immediately after that I leave for prism, get out at 10, go home/to Jerrica's. Hopefully by then I won't be so fucking sick! I hate it!!

I got officer of the week for band. Pretty awesome, I guess. I got 15 free frosties at Wendy's, so I was pretty happy. We got a superior at festival so that was also awesome.

I dunno, I don't have a lot to write in here because my life hasn't been eventful (aside from band) lately because it's been revolving around band ;___;

 I'm about to leave for Eau Gallie (again in less then ten hours, ;~; I know) for an FPS meeting!!!!!!whichireallydontwanttogotoooooo. BUT OH WELL. Even if I wasn't going to that, I would've still had to come two hours afterwards because the band is going on a trip to Seminole High School in Tampa to see a marching band competition! I'm so excitied!! I won't get back from it until 1 a.m. though ;___;

Watching other people perform = <3

Well, our first football game was last night against Viera . . . no, we didn't have our first performance either. Well, not the entire band, but percussion did our first two songs at a standstill because it would've looked stupid if the drumline were the only one's marching xDDDD

We won actually! It's not surprising (40-0) because Viera only has freshman, sophmores, and juniors and this is only their second year open. But, at least we got the year off to a good start, maybe we'll actually do well this time?

I don't really like football, btw, it's just exciting to see Eau Gallie win for once x)

Don't mind my last entry please, it was something I needed to write. I'm sorry.

I'M CO-SECTION LEADER WITH LIZ!!!!!!! I'M SO HAPPY!!!!!

Mr. Blum contacted me about thirty minutes ago and said I was a really strong player and I learned extremely fast, so he wanted me to lead the section with Liz so we can have one of the best Front Ensembles yet and so in my senior year, the FE can have someone who is "very knowledgeble" for section leader!

I'M SO HAPPY, THIS MADE MY DAY.

Edit: OH AND UHM. What is with this Pokemon craze sweeping through the school for guys? Suddenly every guy is digging out their blue, red, yellow, gold and silver cartridges and playing them? It's stupid. I'm extremely into Pokemon but I don't bring my games to school and sit there and play them while the teachers giving a lecture. Wtf get a life plz.

I am extremely excited about symphonic band. My interest has skyrocketed from the lame care I had before, but I am in love with all of the music we're playing, especially "Candide Suite" and "The Planets: Mars". The latter being my favourite I think (only because I've worn my ears out to Candide on my iPod) and if you haven't heard it GO DOWNLOAD IT. It's amazing and totally rocks everything and it's just whoa. I agree with Mr. Singletary with the whole Fantasia deal . . except I'd like to do it to "The Planets". And I might eventually become an animator (BIG ?) and do that so, yeah, ha!

Also, I never got those commercials where the people talked to their animals about the food their animals ate and how it made their animals strong and healthy until now. Even though I've had Maggie for seven months now and Tabby for one and a half or maybe two, I just happened to catch one of those commercials and actually pay attention to it and it all makes sense! I talk to my dog and my cat all the time, I love them so much! : )

Oh yeah, one more thing:

Hammond.

Scales
Not my best runthrough of my scales at all. Actually probably one of the mediocre ones . . as in the first scale, G concert, (key sig. calls for C, F and G sharps) ended up going like this . . A, B, C#, D, E, F#, G#, A (second octave), B, C#, D, Eb!! I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHY I PLAYED Eb!!!!!!!! AHH! and then I left out an octave on F concert. Blah blah, my arpeggios were pretty bad because my pinkies kept locking up (dang you double joints!) and suddenly pressing down Eb or C# randomly. But, other then that, it was pretty good. Probably like six or seven out of ten.

Etude
Uh, well, I messed up one measure and a part where the notes skip two whole steps and then go back up one whole step only to skip to the two more whole steps, but other then that it was actually pretty good! Except the last high F. Which instead of being like, FFFF!!!!!!!! like it supposed to be, ended up being like e?F!. Eight out of ten?

Sight Reading
I totally rocked that sight reading. I mean I nailed it. I took it probably at ten beats to fast . . and I missed a flat two or three times, but other then that I just pretty much nailed it. Nine (maybe even ten! because it was sight reading) out of ten!

But actually, in reality, I know I'm not going to make it because my scales count for a lot and I didn't do very well on them at all. : /

p.s. I LOVE MUSICAL LANGUAGE!

“Intelligence did not figure largely in anything he [Hercules] did and was often conspicuously absent. Once when he was too hot he pointed an arrow at the sun and threatened to shoot him. Another time when the boat he was in was tossed about by the waves he told the waters that he would punish them if they did not grow calm. His intellect was not strong.”

Hahaha! Yesterday was the first day of band camp and it was suh-weet. I mean, totally awesome. Liz, Victoria and I got almost all of C down (we're still having trouble with measure two and getting the sixtuplit run up to C) and we learned two new letters! Horray! :D I was unbelivibly happy. And then we went with the band and played which was great. With the full band we sound awesome, and I love listening to the beginning of Incantation and Dance. But on the last run before we left with the whole band, well, let's just say Liz, Victoria and I all screwed up E.T. nananas in 3-D. It was bad. : /

Oh well, we'll nail 'em today! : )

Yes! So I've finished one of my essays and I'm halfway through my book for Hammond. Band camp started today and, oh, did I mention I cut all my hair off? Well, no, not all of it. But a lot on the length. It looks alright I guess, however, once the thickness comes back (because right now it's super thin) we will have some total awesomeness.

My sister's friend is sleeping over and I have gotten bored of watching a variety of recorded shows from my DVR, (Family Guy, My Family and Robot Chicken just to name a few) so I thought, "hey, why not UPDATE!" Yeah. But nothing really eventful happened at all today. I learned(?) some hard runs for Dancer in the Dark and have started Gymnopedie 1 composed by Satie. And that's about it!

Postscript: I want a Macintosh laptop for my birthday in nine months so I can plan for England while I sit in bed and listen to music while consuming goldfish. Just to let all of you know. : )

I HAVE NO CLUE WHAT TO DO. I don't know what I should do for my debate topic; I don't know what to write for ignorance. I don't know how I am going to finish all of my assignements for Hammond before the first day. asdlkfjasl;dfasd.

On another note, the first FULL Percussion reherseal was today and it was AWESOME. Holy moley. I'm not even joking. Our FE is going to be so brilliant. Our band is going to be brilliant. I can not wait for Band Camp. Which is weird, because I was dreading it. But after this . . man, I just wish we could of worked on the actual marching music.

Last night, was by far, the happiest night of my life. And I'm seriously not just saying that. I could NOT stop smiling after the performance. It was so fantastic! It was a taste of me living out my dream. I loved every single bit of it (with the exceptions of the blips and bleeps) and I could of not been happier. Really, my mom even came up to me and was like, "are you really THAT happy it's over?" And I said, "no! Well, yes, but no!" I love making music so much. The Rockledge band could not of been a better audience as well.

Our audience was awesome. Thank you for all that came! You guys were SO great. I wish I could be that happy again. It's moments like those that you look back on and relize that at the time, you had no thought in the world, you just let all the glory and applause sink in. No thoughts, just GREAT feelings.

Then I went out for Ice Cream at Marble Slab with Kristen and my mom, (if I never said how much I love her, I DO) and it was SO fun. Me and Kristen were non-stop laughing about all the antics of Rachel Harris, Christian Finnagan, Micheal Ian Black, COBRA and Frangela on Vh1's I love the 80's, Best Week Ever and I love Toys. FUN.

My scheduale also has taken a slight change, I'll be taking AP American History next year! (TWO AP classes, how I'm going to have free time, what with band and all, is just . . ) Horray for guidance councliers!

Hot dog lunches with the whole family are FUN. I love my family.

Horray for no free time at all! Lack of free time brings a lack of drawings. But I've been working on this for a while so I'm really proud with myself. xD I like it.

In other news, I am REALLY excited for the band feild trips, they are going to be so fun! We had a meeting tonight to go over the itenerary and what not. Band parents are the best parents in the history of parents that are parents of extracuricular activities.

Oh and best of luck to all of you, although if you are reading this, then you've probobly made it through the Ides of March; but you know, the Ides have come, but they have not passed. Do me a favor and try not to die! :D

So I played my solo. I came out thinking that I was going to get an excellent, (even my mom said so, ha, thanks) but I ended up getting a superior! And then Kristen, my mom and I went to Woody's BBQ (after many of my mom's changed decisions on where to go) and ate and talked, much fun! Then Kristen and I went back to Satalite and walked around with Joey and then listened to Jazz I play their concert. They were amazing! Then I rode home with the Hayes' and that was fun as well. I'm worn out. No more anything for band for the next month! :DDDDDDDD I'll miss the constant running around. xD
